Socket Wera 8790 HMA
The Wera 8790 HMA is a 1/4" drive hand and machine socket (ISO 2725 part 3) with a ball intercept ring for secure retention on external hexagonal bolts and nuts. Designed for both manual and non-impact machine use, it suits situations with low-lying screw heads and protruding threaded rods. The socket features Wera's Take it easy colour coding for quick size identification and a profile shaped to transmit high torque while reducing stress on bolt edges. Fine-toothed ratchet compatibility and a compact length make it suitable for confined spaces.
The chrome-plated metric socket offers a ball intercept ring for reliable holding on the fastener and a hexagon profile that reduces rounding of bolt edges compared with double-hex profiles. Colour-coded size marking speeds up tool selection. Its length and fine-toothed ratchet compatibility provide effective use in tight spaces, and the surface design makes it easier to grip even with oily hands. Manufactured to ISO 2725-3 dimensions for consistent fit.
Select the correct colour-coded socket size and push it onto the 1/4" drive of a ratchet, screwdriver handle or compatible machine adapter until the ball intercept ring engages. Position the socket over the external hexagonal fastener and operate the ratchet or machine in accordance with the fastener’s torque requirements. For machine use limit operation to non-impact tools only. Remove the socket by depressing the ball ring and pulling the socket off the drive.
Use with fine-toothed ratchets in confined spaces for minimal return angle. Avoid impact tools; follow torque limits for the fastener and the socket. Keep sockets clean and lightly lubricated to maintain the ball ring function and prevent corrosion.
