Socket Wera 8790 HMC
Long 1/2" hand and machine socket (ISO 2725 part 3) with ball intercept ring for external hexagonal bolts and nuts. Designed for manual and machine operation (non-impact), it is suitable for use in confined spaces, on low-lying screw heads and on protruding threaded rods. The socket features Wera's Take it easy tool finder with colour coding by size and an ergonomically shaped surface for secure handling even with oily hands. The hexagon profile transmits high torque while reducing stress on bolt and screw edges compared with a double-hexagon profile; fine-toothed ratchets make a double-hexagon design unnecessary thanks to a small return angle.
The Wera 8790 HMC socket combines ISO 2725 compliance with a ball intercept ring for secure retention on fasteners, colour-coded size identification for quick selection, and a hexagon profile that preserves bolt edges under high torque. Its ergonomic surface improves grip with oily hands, and the fine-toothed compatibility ensures efficient work in tight spaces without needing a double-hexagon design. Made for durable use and precise torque transmission.
Select the correct size using the Take it easy colour coding, place the socket onto the external hex bolt or nut until it seats fully, and secure it with the appropriate 1/2" drive ratchet or machine adapter (non-impact). For machine use ensure the machine is rated for non-impact operation. When working in tight spaces, use a fine-toothed ratchet to benefit from the small return angle and make incremental rotations. After use, clean off dirt and oil and store the socket in its tool set or designated holder.
Do not use the socket with impact tools. Inspect the ball intercept ring and hex profile before use and avoid applying torque beyond the fastener or tool ratings to prevent damage to the socket or fastener edges.
