Socket Wera 8790 HMC
Wera 8790 HMC is a 1/2" drive long hand and machine socket (ISO 2725-3) with a ball intercept ring, designed for external hexagonal bolts and nuts. Intended for both manual and machine (non-impact) use, it is suitable where screws sit low or where threaded studs protrude. The socket is made for durability and precision, with compact dimensions that facilitate work in confined spaces.
The hexagon profile transmits high torque while reducing stress on bolt and screw edges compared with a double hexagon design. A Take it easy colour coding by size enables quick identification of the required socket. The surface and shape ensure a secure grip even with oily hands, and the fine-toothed ratchet compatibility and long length make the tool effective in tight areas thanks to a small return angle.
Select the socket size using the Take it easy colour coding, fit the socket onto a compatible 1/2" drive ratchet or machine adaptor, and place it over the hexagonal fastener. For manual operation use a suitable ratchet or handle; for machine use ensure the machine is non-impact rated and set appropriate speed and torque limits. The ball intercept ring secures the socket on the drive to prevent accidental detachment during use.
Use with fine-toothed ratchets or low-return-angle handles in confined spaces. Do not use with impact tools. Regularly inspect the socket and fastener for wear, and replace if edges are rounded to avoid slippage and potential damage.
