Open End Wrench Wera 05020261001
The Wera 05020261001 open end wrench is a metric double open-end wrench designed for hexagonal head bolts and nuts. It measures 260.5 mm in length with working sizes of 22 mm and 24 mm, and is manufactured from chrome-molybdenum steel with a nickel-chrome coating for corrosion resistance. The wrench features a replaceable metal plate in the jaw that holds nuts and bolts securely, an integrated limit stop to prevent slipping downwards, and a double-hex geometry that improves engagement with fasteners while allowing torque transfer with reduced risk of rounding.
The replaceable metal plate in the jaw provides a holding function to reduce the risk of dropping nuts and bolts and its hardened teeth minimise slipping. The integrated limit stop permits higher torque application without the wrench sliding off the bolt head. A 30° return angle reduces the need to flip the wrench during tightening, while the specially forged geometry and chrome-molybdenum construction ensure high strength and durability. Colour coding on the tool finder aids quick size identification.
Select the appropriate end (22 mm or 24 mm) for the fastener, place the wrench over the hexagonal head ensuring the jaw fully engages the flats, and apply steady force in the required direction. The holding plate will help secure nuts or bolts while positioning; the limit stop and double-hex geometry reduce slipping during torque application. If the metal plate shows wear, replace it according to the manufacturer’s instructions to maintain the holding function.
Use the wrench on correctly sized hexagonal fasteners only, avoid applying impact or using cheater bars, and keep the tool clean and lightly oiled to protect the nickel-chrome coating and extend service life.
