Countersink bit Wolfcraft 1 — metal/plastic/chamfering, model 2578000
The Wolfcraft 1 countersink, model 2578000, is a single-piece countersink designed for creating chamfers and removing burrs from drilled holes in materials such as metal and plastic. Intended for use with handheld drills and drill presses, this countersink enables accurate seating of screw heads and clean finishing of holes in repair, workshop and assembly applications.
This countersink is made from tool steel and features a single cutting edge to produce clean chamfers and deburring results on plastics, non-ferrous metals and similar materials. The 1/4" hexagonal shank permits quick tool changes when used with bit holders, and the single-piece design offers simple handling and reliable alignment. Supplied in a blister card for easy storage and identification.
Secure the countersink in a compatible drill or drill press chuck or insert it into a quick-change bit holder using the 1/4" hex shank. Align the tool with the drilled hole, apply steady, moderate feed pressure, and run the drill at an appropriate speed for the work material. Withdraw the tool periodically to clear chips and check the chamfer until the required seat or finish is achieved. Use appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye protection and gloves as needed.
For best results, choose a drill speed suitable for the material being worked: lower speeds for non-ferrous metals and moderate speeds for plastics. Avoid excessive feed pressure to prevent tool chatter or melting of plastic parts. Inspect the cutting edge before use and replace the tool if wear or damage is visible.
