Forstner Drill Bit Wolfcraft model 3313000 — wood boring bit (forstner)
Forstner Drill Bit Wolfcraft model 3313000 — wood boring bit (forstner)
Forstner drill bit Wolfcraft model 3313000 is a woodworking boring tool designed to produce clean, flat-bottomed holes and precise edge-close drilling in solid wood, plywood and similar materials. The bit is intended for use with hand drills and drill presses for tasks such as cutting hinge cups, creating recessed fittings and precise joinery. Constructed from high-quality tool steel, this Forstner-style bit features a centre point and two main cutting edges with pinnacle-type peripheral cutters to ensure accurate positioning and smooth, tear-free hole walls.
The Wolfcraft Forstner bit delivers tear-free and dimensionally accurate holes, suitable for edge drilling and close-to-edge work in soft wood and plastic-coated chipboard. Its special cutting edge geometry reduces drilling time and prevents burn marks on the workpiece. The design requires less drilling energy, which helps reduce load on the machine and can extend drill service life. Supplied in a double blister pack, the bit is ready for safe storage and immediate use.
Secure the workpiece firmly to prevent movement. Fit the Forstner bit into the drill chuck and tighten according to the drill manufacturer's instructions. Align the centre point at the intended hole location, start drilling at low speed to ensure correct positioning, then increase speed moderately while applying even, steady pressure. For hinge cups and shallow recesses stop when the desired depth is reached; use a depth stop or mark on the bit if precise depth control is required. Withdraw the bit periodically on deeper holes to clear shavings and avoid overheating.
Use moderate drill speeds and steady feed pressure to achieve clean, tear-free holes. For best results on thin or coated panels, clamp sacrificial backing material under the workpiece to minimise exit tear-out. Keep the bit sharp and clean; resharpening or replacement is recommended when cutting performance declines.
