Forstner drill bit Wolfcraft 3317000 — wood drilling bit, 25 mm
Forstner drill bit Wolfcraft 3317000 — wood drilling bit, 25 mm
The Wolfcraft Forstner drill bit 25 mm is designed for precision wood drilling, producing clean, flat-bottomed holes in softwoods, hardwoods and coated chipboard. It features a central point and peripheral cutting edges to ensure accurate positioning and tear-free edge holes, making it suitable for hinge installation, cabinetmaking and fine joinery.
The drill bit's special cutting-edge geometry reduces drilling time and prevents burn marks on the wood. It requires less energy to cut, which can reduce wear on the drilling machine. Made from high-quality tool steel and supplied in double blister packaging, the bit is built for consistent performance and a long service life.
This Forstner bit is optimised for wood and wood-based materials; it is not intended for drilling metal, masonry or other non-wood substrates. For very hard or abrasive materials, drilling performance and tool life may be reduced.
Secure the workpiece and mark the drilling position. Mount the Forstner bit in a drill press or handheld drill with appropriate chuck tightening for stable operation. Start drilling at low speed to establish accurate positioning, then increase speed as needed while applying steady, moderate feed pressure. Clear chips from the hole periodically to maintain cutting efficiency and prevent overheating.
Use a drill press when possible for the most precise, repeatable holes. For clean edge holes, clamp the workpiece securely and use controlled feed; reduce speed and backing out the bit periodically when cutting coated chipboard to avoid chipping and heat build-up.
