Wolfcraft VARIO Special Knife for Insulating Materials with a 27.5 cm double-sided blade

The Wolfcraft VARIO Special Knife for Insulating Materials is a professional hand tool designed specifically for cutting insulation efficiently and precisely during construction, renovation, and insulation installation projects. Featuring a 27.5 cm double-sided blade with specialised dual-edge geometry, this knife handles various insulation densities with ease, providing reliable performance for both trade professionals and DIY users.

Advantages

The knife offers high cutting efficiency due to its thoughtfully engineered blade design. The dual-sided blade features a serrated edge tailored for soft, lightweight, and high-volume materials, alongside a saw cutting edge built to handle dense and hard insulating materials effectively. Additionally, the sharpened blade tip allows for clean plunge cuts with minimal resistance. The ergonomically shaped wooden handle ensures comfortable handling and a secure grip, reducing fatigue during extended cutting tasks and enabling precise, exact pulling cuts.

Suitable for

• Cutting soft and lightweight insulating materials
• Cutting high-volume insulation batts and rolls
• Processing dense and hard insulating materials
• Performing precise plunge cuts in insulation

When it may not be suitable

This specialised insulation knife is not intended for cutting heavy structural timber, metal profiles, or masonry materials. Using it on high-density non-insulation building materials may damage the specialised toothing of the blade.

Key specifications

• Blade length: 27.5 cm
• Double-sided blade with special toothing
• Serrated cutting edge for soft and lightweight materials
• Saw cutting edge for dense and hard materials
• Sharpened blade tip for plunge cuts
• Ergonomically shaped wooden handle

How to use

Select the appropriate side of the double-sided blade based on the density of the insulation material you are cutting. Use the serrated side for soft and lightweight materials, and the saw-edge side for dense and hard materials. Position the sharpened blade tip at the starting point if a plunge cut is required. Apply steady pressure while guiding the blade along the cutting line using smooth, pulling motions for optimal accuracy.

What to consider before purchase

• Ensure the 27.5 cm blade length matches the thickness of the insulation materials you plan to cut
• Verify that your project involves standard insulating materials rather than structural building elements
• Consider your preference for a traditional ergonomic wooden handle during extended use

Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as gloves and eye protection, when cutting insulation materials to ensure safety on the job site.
