Drill bit Wolfcraft 5 mm × 59 mm for metal, 1 piece
Wolfcraft 5 mm × 59 mm metal drill bit, single piece, is a precision HSS drill designed for creating 5 mm round holes in metal sheets, profiles and components. Made to DIN 338 dimensions and precision-ground for consistent concentricity, this 59 mm length bit combines a 118° point angle and a spiral flute geometry that increases core diameter toward the shank to improve chip evacuation and stability during standard drilling tasks. The 1/4" (E6.3) hexagonal shank allows secure seating in bit holders and quick changes with compatible drills and impact drivers.
The HSS construction delivers high hardness and wear resistance for reliable performance when drilling steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals and certain plastics. The precision-ground version provides accurate hole size and roundness while the optimized flute geometry balances fast chip removal with improved core strength to reduce breakage risk. The hex shank ensures firm retention in quick-change chucks and bit holders, simplifying tool changes and reducing downtime.
Mark the drilling position and secure the workpiece to prevent movement. Select an appropriate drill or bit holder that accepts a 1/4" hex shank and clamp the bit firmly. Use recommended cutting speeds and feed rates for the specific metal being drilled—moderate speed for steels and higher speed for softer non-ferrous materials. Apply cutting oil when drilling ferrous metals to reduce heat and extend tool life. Start at low speed to create a center mark or pilot, then proceed with steady pressure and cooling interruptions as required. Retract occasionally to clear chips if drilling deep holes.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment, secure the workpiece, and match drill speed and lubrication to the material. Replace the bit if wear or chipping affects hole quality; storing the bit in its original packaging protects the cutting edges.
