Abrasive Flap Disc 115 mm Wolfcraft – non-woven backing, coarse grit
Wolfcraft Abrasive Flap Disc 115 mm with non-woven backing is a coarse-grit lamella disc designed for use with 115 mm angle grinders. Engineered for aggressive material removal, this flap disc combines stacked abrasive flaps with a nonwoven backing to provide consistent cutting action while reducing clogging and heat build-up. It is suitable for removing rust, paint, burrs, weld spatter and for rapid stock removal on metal and wood surfaces where a coarse finish is acceptable.
The non-woven backing maintains a uniform contact pressure across the workpiece and helps preserve the abrasive surface for longer life. Coarse grit lamella arrangement delivers fast removal rates and effective surface preparation with fewer passes. The disc is compatible with standard 115 mm angle grinder interfaces, offering straightforward replacement and reliable mounting. Reduced loading and heat generation improve performance on painted or dirty surfaces compared with conventional paper-backed flap discs.
This coarse-grit flap disc is intended for aggressive material removal and may leave visible scratches or a rough surface that will require finer abrasives or polishing for a smooth finish. It is not designed for precision fine sanding or polishing tasks where low-abrasion, fine-grit discs or polishing pads are required. Use on non-ferrous soft metals may remove material quickly and should be tested on a scrap piece first.
Secure the flap disc to a compatible 115 mm angle grinder following the tool manufacturer's mounting instructions. Operate the grinder at the recommended speed and apply moderate, even pressure while moving the disc across the workpiece to avoid gouging. Keep the disc moving to prevent concentrated heat build-up and allow the non-woven backing to shed debris; if excessive clogging occurs, inspect the disc and replace if worn. Always use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection, gloves and hearing protection.
For best results, start with light passes to establish control and increase pressure gradually for more aggressive removal. Replace the disc when flap wear reduces cutting efficiency or when the backing shows significant degradation. Store discs in a dry area to maintain abrasive performance.
