Plastic Welding Tool YATO 18V 500°C — cordless unit without battery
Handheld plastic welding tool by YATO designed for 18V battery operation with a maximum nozzle temperature of 500°C. This cordless unit is supplied without a battery and is intended for joining thermoplastic parts, repairing vehicle bumpers and body trim, softening and reshaping plastic components, and trimming weld beads. The compact design and battery-powered operation make the tool suitable for mobile repair work and on-site maintenance where access to mains power is limited.
The YATO 18V plastic welding tool provides rapid heating up to 500°C for effective welding and surface preparation. Cordless operation ensures mobility and freedom from extension cables on work sites and in vehicle repair situations. Its lightweight, compact construction supports extended handheld use and access to tight spaces. The tool is compatible with standard plastic welding techniques such as hot-air welding and preheating prior to plastic reshaping.
Install a compatible 18V battery (sold separately) according to the manufacturer’s battery mounting instructions and ensure the battery is charged. Select an appropriate nozzle or accessory if available and set the tool to the required temperature, taking into account the plastic type and thickness. Hold the tool at a suitable distance and move evenly along the joint or area to be welded, applying welding rod or pressure as needed. Allow welded areas to cool and solidify before handling. For trimming weld beads or surface smoothing, use reduced temperature settings and steady hand movements to avoid material damage.
Use personal protective equipment such as heat-resistant gloves and eye protection. Work in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhalation of fumes from heated plastics. Test on a scrap piece of the same plastic to determine optimal temperature and technique before working on the final part. Store the tool and battery in a cool, dry place and follow YATO safety and maintenance guidelines for battery-powered hand tools.
