Cable cutter YATO YT-1968, 240 mm length, 1 pc
YATO YT-1968 cable cutter, 240 mm length, designed for cutting electrical and communication cables. Supplied as a single piece, the tool provides compact handling for workshop and field use. Ergonomic two-component handle caps and hardened cutting edges allow accurate, clean cuts for copper and aluminium conductors, facilitating preparation of cables for termination.
The cutting jaws are made of chromium-vanadium forged steel and hardened to HRC 55–60, offering durable, wear-resistant cutting performance. The tool body is hardened to HRC 42–48 to maintain strength and reliable operation. Ergonomic two-component handles improve grip and control during use. The compact 240 mm length balances accessibility in confined spaces with sufficient leverage for cutting conductors up to 8 mm.
Position the cutter jaws around the conductor at the desired cutting point, ensure a firm grip on the two-component handles, and apply steady pressure until the conductor is severed. For thick or multi-stranded conductors, make sure the conductor is supported and aligned to avoid crushing or frayed ends. After cutting, inspect the conductor ends and, if necessary, trim for a clean finish before termination.
Use the cable cutter only for its intended purpose—cutting copper and aluminium conductors within the specified capacity. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and keep cutting edges clean and lightly lubricated to maintain performance. Do not use the tool on hardened steel, piano wire, or materials exceeding the maximum diameter.
