End-cutting pliers YATO YT-21160, chromium-vanadium steel, 160 mm, 1000 V rated insulation
YATO YT-21160 end-cutting pliers are compact hand tools made from chromium-vanadium steel with a total length of 160 mm and insulated handles rated for 1000 V. Designed for precise cutting close to surfaces, these pliers combine hardened cutting edges and a robust head geometry to cut nails, wires and pins while minimising deformation of the workpiece. Insulated grips provide protection in electrical work where a tool with voltage rating is required.
The chromium-vanadium steel construction ensures good edge retention and mechanical strength for repeated cutting operations. Hardened cutting faces and a close-coupled head allow cutting near flush with a surface. The 1000 V rated insulation on the handles reduces the risk of electric shock during live or electrically charged environments when used according to its rating. Compact 160 mm length offers manoeuvrability in confined spaces and improved control for detailed work.
Position the cutting edges as close as possible to the workpiece surface and apply steady pressure to achieve a flush or near-flush cut. For cutting wires, ensure the conductor is centred between the cutting edges and do not twist the tool during the cut. Use the pliers in a controlled motion and avoid side loads that can damage the cutting edges. Before using on electrically live components, verify that the insulation rating is appropriate for the voltage present and inspect handles for any damage.
Regularly clean and lightly oil the pivot joint to maintain smooth action and inspect cutting edges for nicks; regrind or replace the tool if cutting performance degrades. Always verify the condition of the insulation and comply with safety procedures when working near live circuits.
