YATO SDS‑Plus X‑Tip Drill Bit 16×600 mm YT‑4222
The YATO SDS‑Plus X‑Tip Drill Bit 16×600 mm is a rotary/percussion masonry bit designed for use with SDS‑Plus rotary hammers. With a 16 mm cutting diameter and a 600 mm overall length, this drill bit is intended for making deep, accurate holes in concrete, brick and other masonry materials. The X‑Tip head geometry enhances centring and reduces walking at the start of drilling, while the SDS‑Plus shank provides secure retention and fast bit changes when used with compatible rotary hammers.
The X‑Tip geometry improves drilling accuracy and initial bite into the material, reducing the need for pilot holes and enabling straighter boreholes over long depths. The long 600 mm length allows access to deep or hard‑to‑reach drilling positions without extensions. Constructed for rotary/percussion use, the bit balances impact resistance with cutting performance for durable operation in concrete and masonry. The SDS‑Plus connection ensures consistent torque transfer and easy one‑handed bit changes when working on projects that demand speed and repeatability.
Select a compatible SDS‑Plus rotary hammer and set it to the rotary/percussion mode recommended for masonry. Insert the bit into the chuck until it locks securely. Mark the drilling point and, if needed, start at a low speed to establish the hole using the X‑Tip to maintain centre. Apply steady axial pressure without forcing the tool; allow the hammer action to remove material. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear dust and prevent overheating. For deep holes, remove debris frequently to maintain drilling efficiency and straightness.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection and dust mask when drilling masonry. Match drill speed and hammer impact settings to the material hardness; lower speeds with higher impact are typical for hard concrete. For accurate anchor placement, verify hole depth with a depth gauge or tape. Replace the bit when wear degrades cutting performance to avoid excessive strain on the tool.
