Masonry chisel YATO YT-4700, length 300 mm, single piece
Masonry chisel YATO YT-4700, length 300 mm, single piece is a hand tool designed for cutting, shaping and removing mortar, brick and stone material. The chisel is intended for manual chiselling and light demolition work when used with a hammer, offering a straight blade profile and durable steel construction for accurate chiselling in masonry, restoration and repair tasks.
The working part is made of CRV steel, flattened and sharpened to provide effective material removal and prolonged edge retention. A hexagonal shank profile improves grip and prevents rotation when struck. The chisel includes a protective cover for the working end to reduce the risk of accidental injury during handling or storage. The tool is supplied as a single piece with a 300 mm overall length and a black-finished cutter surface for corrosion resistance and reduced glare.
Securely hold the chisel by the shank and position the sharpened working edge against the masonry at the intended breaking or cutting point. Strike the blunt end of the shank with a suitable hammer to drive the cutter into the material, making controlled blows to avoid excessive force. For longer cuts, work progressively along the joint or surface. After use, fit the protective cover over the cutter to protect the edge and reduce injury risk.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves and hearing protection. Choose a hammer compatible with the 19 mm hexagonal shank, and avoid using the chisel on reinforced concrete with large rebar without prior assessment. Store the tool dry and keep the protective cover in place when not in use to maintain the cutter condition.
