YATO YT-47021 is a cold chisel with a working section of 22 x 250 mm, designed for hand-operated metalworking tasks. The tool concentrates impact force to cut, split, score or remove rivets, bolts and weld seams. Constructed for use in workshops and maintenance environments, this cold chisel provides a compact, single-piece solution for shaping and separating ferrous and non-ferrous metal components.
This cold chisel offers a hardened cutting edge and a robust shank to withstand repeated hammer blows during manual metal cutting. Its 22 mm blade width gives a balance between cutting surface and control, while the 250 mm length provides reach and leverage for typical workshop operations. The tool’s solid construction ensures long service life under normal working conditions and reduces the risk of premature deformation when used as intended.
Secure the workpiece before beginning to ensure stability. Position the chisel cutting edge against the target area at the correct angle for the operation — typically close to perpendicular for cutting or at a shallower angle for scoring. Strike the opposite end of the chisel with a suitable hammer to apply controlled impact force; use steady, measured blows rather than excessive force. After each strike, check alignment and adjust angle as needed. For removal of rivets or bolts, use repeated strikes to loosen and then extract fasteners. Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and gloves while working.
Use the chisel only on materials and tasks for which it is intended; avoid striking hardened steel, masonry or non-metallic materials that may damage the cutting edge. Regularly inspect the cutting edge for chips or deformation and resharpen or replace the tool as needed to maintain safe, efficient performance. Store the chisel in a dry place and protect the cutting face with a cover or in a toolbox to preserve the edge.
