Milling cutter YATO YT-61701 — single-piece cutting tool for metalworking
Milling cutter YATO YT-61701 — single-piece cutting tool for metalworking supplied as a single unit (1 pc). This stage milling cutter is designed for machining steel and aluminum in milling operations and for use with drills. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) with precision ground cutting edges, the tool is suitable for enlarging holes during fitting tasks, creating profiles and bevels, deburring pipes and preparing carpentry joints where a stepped cutter is required.
The single-piece construction provides dimensional stability and consistent concentricity during rotation, reducing chatter and improving surface finish. High-speed steel cutting edges maintain sharpness under typical workshop conditions and ensure reliable material removal in both steel and aluminum. The stepped design allows multiple diameters to be cut with one tool, reducing the need to change cutters during sequential operations and saving setup time.
Secure the milling cutter in a compatible drill or milling spindle with a 6 mm mounting shank, ensuring the tool is firmly clamped and correctly centered. Select the appropriate step (diameter) of the cutter for the required hole size or profile and set the machine speed to or below the recommended 2000 rpm depending on material and machine capability. Feed the tool steadily into the workpiece without excessive lateral force, using light passes for final sizing and finishing. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubrication when machining steel to prolong tool life and improve surface finish; for aluminum, use intermittent cutting and ensure chips are cleared to avoid built-up edge.
Check the drill or spindle runout before use, maintain recommended speeds and feeds for the material being machined, and inspect the cutter for wear or damage before each operation. Use eye protection and appropriate personal protective equipment during machining. Replace the cutter if cutting performance or concentricity degrades.
