YATO YT-81454 heat-shrink tubing pack contains 100 transparent PE sleeves designed to insulate and protect electrical joints, soldered connections and wiring harnesses. Each tube has a length of 40 mm and an internal diameter of 6 mm, making it suitable for cables with cross-sections of 4–6 mm² (12–10 AWG). The sleeves include a central ring of solder (tin) and two rings of hot-melt adhesive on each side to provide electrical continuity, mechanical reinforcement and a moisture-resistant seal after heat shrinking.

Advantages

The polyethylene (PE) construction provides a higher shrink ratio (3:1) than typical PVC alternatives, allowing better conformity to uneven joints and enabling use over larger-diameter terminals prior to shrinking. How to use

Strip the insulation from the wires to be joined, slide a YATO heat-shrink sleeve over one conductor, make the soldered or crimped connection, center the sleeve so the solder ring covers the joint and apply heat evenly using a heat gun or appropriate heat source. Heat until the tube contracts snugly around the connection, the solder ring melts and flows between conductors, and the adhesive rings wet and seal the assembly. Allow the joint to cool to room temperature before handling.

Usage recommendations

For best results use a temperature-controlled heat gun and maintain a distance to avoid overheating nearby insulation. Ensure the solder ring fully melts and adhesive flows to create a continuous seal; insufficient heat may result in poor solder flow and incomplete sealing. These sleeves are suitable for environments with temperature variation and light chemical exposure, but avoid prolonged direct exposure to strong solvents or excessive mechanical abrasion.
