Drill Chuck with Key YATO 13 mm 1/2" model YT-820301
Drill chuck with key YATO 13 mm 1/2" model YT-820301 is a keyed metal chuck designed to securely hold twist drills and rotary tool bits. With a maximum capacity of 13 mm and a 1/2" drive, this chuck is intended for use with handheld drills, bench drills and light workshop machinery where reliable clamping and firm bit retention are required.
The keyed tightening mechanism provides strong and repeatable clamping torque for a wide range of bit diameters up to 13 mm. Constructed from durable metal components, the chuck resists wear during repeated tightening and loosening cycles. Its 1/2" drive interface ensures compatibility with many common drill spindles and adapters used in home and light professional settings, offering stable rotation and reduced slippage under load.
Open the chuck jaws by turning the outer sleeve counterclockwise, insert the drill bit or rotary tool shank into the jaws ensuring it is centered, then tighten the jaws by turning the sleeve clockwise to hand-tight. Use the supplied key inserted into the keyhole and turn clockwise to achieve final secure clamping; verify the bit is centered and firmly secured before applying power. To remove the bit, reverse the process and use the key to loosen the jaws as needed. Ensure the drill is switched off and disconnected from power before changing bits.
For reliable performance, periodically clean the chuck jaws and keyway from dust and metal shavings and apply a light machine oil to moving parts. Avoid overtightening beyond what is needed for secure clamping to prevent premature wear of the jaws or threads.
