Circuit Breaker ABB SH201-B6 1P B 6A (MPN 2CDS211001R0065)
ABB SH201-B6 is a single-pole (1P) circuit breaker with a B-type tripping characteristic and a rated current of 6 A. Intended for protection of single-phase circuits, this miniature circuit breaker interrupts overloads and short-circuits in residential and light commercial distribution boards and electrical panels. The compact design and standard DIN-rail mounting make it compatible with common installation practices in distribution systems.
The breaker provides reliable overcurrent protection for small branch circuits with a B-type curve that trips quickly on moderate short-circuit currents while tolerating temporary inrush currents from typical household appliances. Its single-pole configuration occupies minimal space on DIN rails and integrates with standard modular distribution systems. The device is designed to meet relevant safety and performance standards for miniature circuit breakers used in domestic and light commercial applications.
This single-pole 6 A B-type breaker is not intended for three-phase circuits or for circuits requiring higher continuous currents. It may not be appropriate where selective coordination with upstream devices or specific time-delay characteristics are required. For circuits with significant motor-start currents or heavy inductive loads, a different tripping characteristic or a higher rated device should be considered.
Install the breaker on a standard 35 mm DIN rail inside the distribution board, ensuring correct phase and neutral wiring according to local electrical codes. Tighten terminal connections to the torque values specified by the panel manufacturer and verify that the breaker is firmly clipped to the rail. Use the manual toggle to switch the circuit on or off during commissioning. In the event of a trip, identify and remove the fault before resetting the breaker by moving the toggle to the OFF position and then back to ON.
Use this breaker for branch circuits with primarily resistive or small inductive loads such as lighting and general-purpose sockets. Regularly inspect connections for tightness and signs of overheating, and replace devices that show damage or repeated nuisance tripping. For circuits with motors, EV chargers, or heavy inductive loads consult an electrician to select an appropriate tripping characteristic and rating.
