Mini circuit breaker ABB SH201-C13A 1-pole, 13 A, 6 kA breaking capacity
ABB SH201-C13A is a single-pole mini circuit breaker rated for 13 A nominal current with a 6 kA breaking capacity. Designed for DIN-rail mounting in residential and light-commercial distribution boards, this breaker provides overcurrent protection against overloads and short circuits for lighting circuits, socket outlets and general branch circuits. The compact one-pole design integrates into standard modular switchgear and complies with typical safety and installation practices for low-voltage distribution.
The device offers reliable overcurrent protection with a clearly defined C tripping characteristic suitable for mixed resistive and inductive loads. Its 6 kA short-circuit breaking capacity ensures safe interruption of fault currents within the limits of many domestic and small commercial installations. The DIN-rail form factor and standard terminal arrangement simplify installation and replacement in existing consumer units. The single-pole construction minimizes footprint while delivering necessary circuit protection.
This 1-pole 13 A breaker is not suitable where higher continuous currents or three-phase protection are required. It also should not be used in installations that demand a breaking capacity beyond 6 kA or where selective coordination with upstream protection requires different characteristic or rated breaking capacity. Dedicated residual-current protection or combined RCBO protection is required when earth-fault protection is mandated.
Install the mini circuit breaker on a standard 35 mm DIN-rail inside the distribution board, ensuring the incoming supply conductor is connected to the line terminal and the load conductor to the load terminal. Tighten terminals to the manufacturer's recommended torque and verify polarity and continuity before energising. Use the breaker as the main overcurrent protective device for the designated 13 A circuit and test operation after installation by switching the breaker on and off. Follow local wiring regulations and, where required, isolate supply before working on the panel.
Use the breaker for dedicated lighting and socket circuits within its rated current and breaking capacity, and coordinate with upstream protection to ensure selective tripping. Periodically inspect terminal tightness and the panel environment for moisture or corrosion to maintain reliable operation.
