Circuit breaker ABB S201-C16 — 16 A, 250 V, 1P, 17.5 mm width
ABB S201-C16 is a single-pole miniature circuit breaker rated 16 A and 250 V designed for overcurrent protection and switching in residential and light commercial distribution panels. It occupies one 17.5 mm DIN-rail module and is suitable for standard 50/60 Hz installations. The device combines a thermal element for overload protection and an electromechanical trip for short-circuit protection, meeting common international standards for safety and performance.
The S201-C16 features current-limiting performance and dual tripping mechanisms — a delayed thermal trip for overloads and an electromechanical trip for short circuits — ensuring selective and reliable protection. It is compact (17.5 mm width), supports multiple characteristic curves for coordinated protection, and complies with IEC/EN and UL/CSA standards for residential, commercial and industrial applications. A bottom-fitting auxiliary contact can be added to save installation space.
Install the S201-C16 on a standard DIN rail within a distribution panel, ensuring correct orientation and secure mounting. Connect the line and load conductors to the respective terminal screws, tighten to manufacturer-specified torque, and verify insulation and circuit continuity before energising. Use the manual toggle to switch circuits on or off and allow the breaker to trip automatically under overload or short-circuit conditions.
Use the S201-C16 for branch-circuit protection where a compact, compliant single-pole MCB is required. Coordinate characteristic selection (B, C, D, K, Z) with upstream and downstream protection devices and follow local electrical codes. Add the bottom-fitting auxiliary contact when remote signalling or space savings are needed.
