Description

The ABUS MK4000 is a magnetic door opening detector designed for reliable perimeter protection of large doors such as roll-up, sliding and tilting garage doors. The device detects unauthorized openings and reports them to the alarm centre. Housed in a robust aluminium casing, the detector is water- and dustproof with IP68 protection and is VdS certified (G 191589).

How to use

Mount the magnetic contact and the magnet parallel to each other, preferably in the middle of the entrance. For surface-mounted installation, fix the contact on the ground and the magnet on the inside of the door with an approximate gap of 20 mm. Connect the device to the alarm panel using the supplied cable, observing the NC wiring. Verify tamper protection and perform a functional test: in the closed state the circuit should be closed, and opening the door should break the circuit and trigger an alarm signal to the alarm centre.

Usage recommendations

The ABUS MK4000 is suited for external and exposed installations; ensure correct positioning and secure mounting to preserve IP68 integrity. Regularly inspect seals and cable entries and test the detector during routine alarm system maintenance.
