Patch Cable ACT Grey 0.5m LSZH U/UTP CAT6
The ACT Grey 0.5m LSZH U/UTP CAT6 patch cable is a slimline datacenter Ethernet cable with a 0.5 meter length and snagless RJ45 connectors. Its reduced diameter (approx. 3.8 mm) compared with standard CAT6 patch cords improves cable management and airflow inside cabinets. The cable uses U/UTP construction, gold-plated contacts and a low-smoke, zero-halogen outer jacket suitable for installations where limited space and reduced emissions are important.
The slimline design lowers the bending radius and occupies less space in cable bundles, which helps maintain better airflow in racks and cabinets. Gold-plated contacts ensure reliable connectivity and improved conductivity. The LSZH jacket reduces hazardous emissions in case of fire. The 0.5 m length is convenient for short connections in datacenter and patch-panel environments.
Connect one RJ45 end to the network device (switch, patch panel or server) and the other RJ45 end to the corresponding port. Route the cable through the rack or cabinet, keeping bends gentle within the recommended bending radius. For optimal performance, use this slimline 0.5 m cable for short links inside cabinets or between adjacent devices and avoid unnecessarily long runs that increase attenuation.
ACT notes that slimline CAT6 cables often use thinner conductors (for example 28 AWG). Thinner conductors can increase attenuation, especially at higher frequencies, so ACT recommends shorter permanent link lengths compared with standard 24 AWG patchcords. In Power over Ethernet (PoE) deployments, limit bundle sizes (recommendation: maximum 24 cables) to reduce temperature rise in the centre cable and comply with current guidance (ANSI TSB-184-A) limiting temperature increase to less than 15 °C above ambient for the centre cable.
