Patch Cable ACT Blue 2 meter LSZH U/UTP CAT6
The ACT Blue 2 meter LSZH U/UTP CAT6 patch cable is a slimline datacenter Ethernet cable designed for high-speed data transmission in confined spaces. With a reduced diameter compared to standard CAT6 patch cords, it improves cabinet airflow while providing reliable connectivity via snagless RJ45 connectors with gold-plated contacts and U/UTP construction. The LSZH jacket reduces hazardous smoke and fumes in the event of fire.
The slim 3.8 mm diameter minimizes bend radius and saves space in dense racks, improving ventilation. U/UTP construction lowers external interference compared with unshielded alternatives, and gold-plated RJ45 contacts provide stable signal transfer. The LSZH outer jacket offers enhanced safety for installations in public or enclosed environments. Note that the 28 AWG conductor size increases attenuation at higher frequencies compared with 24 AWG cables.
Connect one RJ45 end to the network device (switch, patch panel or NIC) and the other end to the corresponding port. Avoid sharp bends and maintain the recommended bend radius for slimline cables to prevent additional attenuation. For reliable performance, keep permanent link lengths shorter than typical 24 AWG installations to compensate for the higher attenuation of 28 AWG conductors. Follow standard installation practices for cable routing and secure connections in racks and patch panels.
When deploying Power over Ethernet (PoE), limit bundled quantities to a maximum of 24 cables to reduce temperature rise in the bundle. Comply with standards such as ANSI TSB-184-A by ensuring the temperature increase for the centre cable in a bundle remains below 15 °C above ambient. For long runs or high-frequency-critical links, consider using 24 AWG patch cords or reducing permanent link lengths to maintain signal integrity.
