Patch Cable ACT Black 1 meter LSZH U/UTP CAT6
The ACT Black 1 meter LSZH U/UTP CAT6 patch cable is a slimline datacenter Ethernet cable with a reduced diameter (approximately 3.8 mm) compared to regular CAT6 patch cords. It uses U/UTP construction and snagless RJ45 connectors with gold-plated contacts. The slim design lowers the bending radius and improves airflow in cabinets while the LSZH jacket reduces smoke and toxic fume emissions in confined spaces.
The slim 3.8 mm diameter offers a smaller footprint than standard 5.9 mm CAT6 cords, allowing denser cable routing and improved cabinet airflow. Gold-plated RJ45 contacts and U/UTP construction provide reliable signal transmission. The LSZH jacket enhances safety in enclosed installations. Note that the slimmer 28 AWG-style conductors typically used in slimline cables produce higher attenuation at higher frequencies compared with 24 AWG cables, which affects maximum recommended permanent link length.
Connect one RJ45 end to a network device (switch, server or NIC) and the other end to a patch panel or wall socket. Route the cable following cabinet and cable management guidelines, avoiding sharp bends beyond the cable's reduced bending radius. For best performance, keep permanent link lengths short when using slimline cables due to the higher attenuation compared with standard 24 AWG patch cords.
Limit PoE bundle sizes to a maximum of 24 slimline cables to reduce cable temperature rise; current guidance (ANSI TSB-184-A) aims to keep the centre cable temperature increase under 15 °C above ambient. For long links or installations requiring minimal attenuation at higher frequencies, consider using standard 24 AWG CAT6 cables instead of slimline 28 AWG-style cables.
