ACT LC End Cap Dust Cap White EA1002

The ACT LC End Cap Dust Cap White EA1002 is a specialized protective accessory designed to safeguard unused LC fiber optic connectors against dust, debris, dirt, and potential physical damage. Manufactured by ACT, these white end caps help maintain the integrity and cleanliness of optical interfaces in complex network environments. By preventing contamination of the fiber end-faces, they ensure stable optical signal transmission and contribute to the overall reliability and extended lifespan of your fiber optic infrastructure in professional data centers and telecommunication installations.

Advantages

Using the ACT LC End Cap Dust Cap White helps prevent signal degradation caused by microscopic particles settling on connector end-faces. The clean white color allows for easy visual identification within dense patch panels. These protective caps are delivered in a convenient pack of twenty-five pieces, providing an efficient supply for maintenance and installation tasks. Their precise fit ensures they stay securely in place on standard LC connectors until the ports are ready for deployment.

Suitable for

• Data center patch panels and equipment racks
• Telecommunication network distribution frames
• Fiber optic laboratory testing and storage
• Protecting pre-terminated cables during transit

When it may not be suitable

This product is not suitable for connector types other than LC, such as SC or MTP/MPO connectors, as the physical dimensions will not match. It is also not intended for active connections where cables are currently plugged into transceivers or adapters.

Key specifications

• Connector type: LC fiber optic
• Accessory type: End cap / dust cap

How to use

Ensure the LC connector is clean and dry before applying the dust cap. Gently press the cap over the ferrule tip of the unused LC connector until it fits snugly. To remove, firmly pull the cap straight off without twisting to avoid stressing the fiber optic connection. Reuse the cap whenever the fiber port is disconnected during maintenance or reconfiguration.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your network hardware utilizes LC type fiber optic connectors
• Determine the required quantity based on the number of spare ports
• Check environmental requirements for white-colored cable management accessories

Store unused dust caps in a clean, sealed bag to prevent them from gathering dust before application. Avoid applying excessive force when attaching or removing caps to prevent wear on the connector housing.
