OS2 Pigtail Cable ACT LC 9/125µm 1m
The ACT LC 9/125µm OS2 pigtail cable, 1 m in length, is a single-mode fiber optic connection designed for integration into patch panels and splicing enclosures. It combines an LC connector on one end with a prepared pigtail fiber on the other, offering a compact termination option for optical distribution frames. The 9/125µm core/cladding ratio corresponds to single-mode OS2 fiber suitable for long-distance and high-bandwidth transmission with low attenuation.
This pigtail cable provides low insertion loss and stable optical performance thanks to single-mode 9/125µm construction and precision LC termination. The 1 m length gives flexibility during installation while minimizing excess cable management. The compact LC connector supports high-density patching and reduces required panel space. The cable’s construction is improved for mechanical reliability and consistent performance in standard telecom and datacom environments.
Prepare the fiber management tray or splice enclosure and secure the incoming fiber. Strip and clean the pigtail end according to standard fiber preparation procedures, then perform fusion splicing between the pigtail and the installed fiber. After splicing, protect the splice with an appropriate heat-shrink sleeve and secure the pigtail and connector in the panel. Connect the LC connector to the mating adapter or port, taking care to avoid contaminating connector endfaces.
Handle fiber ends with care and use proper cleaning tools for connector endfaces. Verify insertion loss and reflectance with suitable test equipment after installation. Store and route the cable to avoid tight bends and mechanical stress; follow recommended minimum bend radius for single-mode fiber to ensure long-term performance.
