Ajax ReX Smart Home is a wireless radio range extender that expands and stabilizes the communication radius of compatible Ajax security systems. Designed for indoor use, ReX doubles the radio coverage and allows placing detectors and other devices at greater distances from the hub — for example, in multi-storey offices, detached garages, or large production facilities. Up to five ReX units can extend the protected area coverage to 35 km². The device supports remote configuration via the Ajax mobile app and automatic operation within the Ajax ecosystem.

How to use

Install ReX indoors near a power outlet and within radio range of the hub and the devices you want to extend. To add the extender to your Ajax system, scan the QR code with the Ajax mobile app, give the device a name, and turn it on. In the app select which detectors or devices should operate via the range extender. Mounting is performed on the SmartBracket panel without disassembling the unit. Use the app to run signal strength tests and adjust placement if necessary.

Usage recommendations

Place ReX so that it maintains a reliable line of communication both with the hub and with the furthest devices you intend to connect. Avoid metal obstructions and sources of strong radio interference. Test signal strength from the Ajax app after installation and ensure the unit remains plugged into mains power when continuous operation is required; rely on the battery backup only for temporary outages.
