AKA 90° PE Elbow Kolano J-71 50 mm is a polyethylene (PE) 90-degree elbow fitting designed for socket or glued installation (3/2" designation). Manufactured for connection of PE pipes, the fitting enables a right-angle change of direction in low-pressure, non-corrosive piping systems used for water supply, irrigation and cable protection. The product is suitable for reliable directional transitions where flexibility and chemical resistance of PE are required.
The elbow is made of PE material that offers chemical resistance, low weight and a smooth internal surface to reduce flow resistance. The socket/glued connection type supports straightforward assembly with compatible pipe adhesives or socket joining methods, simplifying installation and maintenance. Its 50 mm nominal diameter is commonly used in small-scale distribution and irrigation networks, enabling compact routing of piping runs where space is limited.
Ensure pipes and fitting sockets are clean, dry and free from damage before assembly. Select a compatible PE adhesive or socket joining method appropriate for the pipe wall type and thickness. For glued installations, apply adhesive to both the pipe end and the fitting socket per the adhesive manufacturer's instructions, insert the pipe fully and allow the prescribed curing time before pressurizing. For socket fittings intended for mechanical socket joining, follow the specified insertion depth and securement method. Verify alignment at 90° and check for leaks during initial pressure testing.
Use the fitting only within the operating pressure and temperature limits specified for the PE piping system in use. Store the elbow protected from prolonged UV exposure and extreme temperatures prior to installation. When in doubt, consult pipe and adhesive manufacturers' guidelines to match wall thickness, SDR rating and compatible joining materials.
