Network cable Alantec U/UTP Cat5e PE 4PR gel-filled outdoor 500m
Alantec U/UTP Cat5e PE 4PR gel-filled outdoor 500m is an unshielded twisted-pair network cable designed for outdoor and direct-burial installations. The cable features four twisted pairs constructed to meet Category 5e performance requirements and is filled with a gel compound to inhibit moisture ingress. A polyethylene (PE) outer sheath provides mechanical protection and environmental resistance for runs exposed to weather or laid underground. Supplied on a 500 m reel, this cable is intended for Ethernet and other data networks where basic outdoor-rated connectivity and moisture protection are required.
The gel-filled core reduces the risk of water damage by displacing moisture in and around the conductor pairs, while the PE outer sheath resists UV exposure and provides durable mechanical protection. The Category 5e construction supports common Ethernet speeds and delivers predictable signal transmission for typical office and residential network applications. Supplied on a 500 m reel, the cable simplifies longer runs and reduces the need for frequent joins or additional reels.
Plan the cable route to avoid areas of excessive mechanical stress and to respect local regulations for underground cabling. When burying the cable directly, place it at an appropriate depth and, where required, in a warning tape or conduit for mechanical protection. Terminate the cable using standard Cat5e connectors or punch-down keystone jacks following proper pair identification and maintaining pair twist as close to the termination point as possible. Test each run with a suitable cable tester to verify continuity and performance after installation.
For optimal performance, avoid installing the cable near high-voltage power lines or sources of electromagnetic interference. Use appropriate grounding and surge protection for connected equipment when deploying outdoors. If routing through areas with frequent mechanical stress or rodent exposure, consider installing in conduit or selecting a cable with additional mechanical armoring.
