Patch cord Alantec Category 6A S/FTP LSOH, 1 m, purple
Alantec Category 6A S/FTP patch cord, 1 m in purple, is designed for high-speed Ethernet and structured cabling where shielded performance is required. The cable uses S/FTP construction — an overall braided shield with individually foiled pairs — to provide improved protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and near-end crosstalk (NEXT). The LSOH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) jacket reduces toxic and corrosive gas emission in case of fire, while the 1 m length and compact RJ45 connectors make this patch cord suitable for short link patching in rack and cabinet environments.
The S/FTP shielding topology ensures reliable data transmission up to 10 Gbps on shielded 4-pair Category 6A cabling, improving signal integrity in environments with multiple adjacent cables and electronic equipment. The LSOH sheath offers enhanced safety properties in indoor installations by limiting smoke and halogen release. A standardized 1 m length simplifies patch panel and switch port management, and the purple color provides easy visual identification for cable organization.
Insert the RJ45 connectors into compatible shielded ports on switches, patch panels or network devices, ensuring the connector latches engage. For shielded installations, connect the connector shields to properly grounded shielded ports or patch panels to maintain the effectiveness of the S/FTP screening. Use the 1 m length for short patching runs between adjacent equipment or within racks; avoid sharp bends and kinks to preserve cable performance.
Maintain proper grounding of the shield at least at one point in the channel, follow bend radius guidelines (typically at least four times the cable diameter), and avoid running the cable in close parallel alongside high-voltage power lines to minimize EMI. Use the purple color to label and segregate specific network segments or services for easier maintenance.
