The Alesis SamplePad Pro Black is a compact, pad-based electronic percussion module designed for practice, performance, and integration into acoustic or electronic setups. It features eight velocity-sensitive rubber pads with dual-zone sensing, a backlit LCD for parameter navigation, active blue LED pad illumination, and a streamlined control layout. The unit includes a USB port for computer connectivity, MIDI In/Out, stereo 1/4" outputs, a headphone output with dedicated volume control, an aux input for backing tracks, and inputs for additional drum pads and footswitches. Expandable sound storage is supported via SD card.
SamplePad Pro provides an intuitive interface and responsive pads that suit both live and studio use. The system combines a broad internal sound library with editable parameters such as pitch, pan, and reverb, enabling concise sound shaping without extra hardware. Multiple connection options—USB, MIDI, stereo outputs, headphone out, and aux in—allow effortless integration with computers, mixing consoles, amplifiers, and monitoring systems. Pad illumination and a clear LCD simplify playing and editing in low-light environments.
Connect the SamplePad Pro to an amplifier, PA, audio interface, or headphones using the 1/4" outputs or headphone jack. For computer integration, connect via the USB port to transfer MIDI or manage sounds. Install an SD card to expand the internal library and save custom sounds and kits. Use the pads and the backlit LCD to select kits, edit individual sound parameters such as pitch, panning, and reverb, and assign zones or sensitivity. Add external pads or pedals to the trigger inputs and configure the kick and hi-hat jacks for switch or trigger/variable operation as needed.
For reliable operation live or in the studio, secure the module on a stable stand or mounting kit and ensure audio connections are made with quality cables. When using an SD card, format and test the card beforehand and keep firmware and software utilities up to date for best compatibility. Use the headphone output for silent practice and the aux input to play along with reference tracks at controlled levels.
