Passive PoE Injector Gigabit Alfa APOE08G
The Alfa Passive PoE Injector Gigabit APOE08G supplies both power and data to up to eight Ethernet devices over standard network cables. Supporting Gigabit (10/100/1000 Mbps) throughput on each data port, this passive PoE injector is intended to simplify deployments of IP cameras, wireless access points and other low-voltage network devices by removing the need for local power adapters at each endpoint. The unit combines a compact chassis with a fixed set of PoE output ports to provide a straightforward, rack- or wall-mountable solution for small to medium network installations.
The Alfa APOE08G delivers simultaneous power and data on eight ports while maintaining Gigabit link speeds, enabling consistent bandwidth for video and wireless traffic. Its passive PoE design offers plug-and-play operation without the requirement for PoE negotiation, reducing setup complexity. The injector’s metal enclosure and compact footprint allow for installation in constrained spaces and offer enhanced durability compared with plastic housings. Centralized power distribution reduces cable clutter and the total number of wall adapters required across the installation.
Connect a compatible DC power supply to the injector’s power input, then link the injector’s data input port to your switch or router using a Cat5e or better Ethernet cable. Attach each PoE output port to the powered device with Ethernet cables; devices will receive data and DC power simultaneously. Ensure connected devices are designed for passive PoE and accept the injector’s voltage specification before powering up. Position the injector in a ventilated area and avoid placing it near heat sources or moisture.
Verify power requirements for each connected device and calculate total current draw to ensure the selected DC power supply can handle the combined load. Use quality Cat5e/Cat6 cables for Gigabit performance and keep cable runs within recommended Ethernet distance limits. For critical installations, consider monitoring and surge protection at the power source.
