Alfa Network APOE08G 8-Port Passive Gigabit PoE Injector

The Alfa Network APOE08G 8-Port Passive Gigabit PoE Injector is a reliable networking device designed to supply both electrical power and network data to compatible devices over a single Ethernet cable. By utilizing passive Power over Ethernet technology, this unit simplifies network deployment by eliminating the need for separate power cords near every connected device. It features eight dedicated ports with full gigabit support, ensuring that data transmission speeds remain high and unbottlenecked while delivering the necessary power.

Advantages

Using the Alfa Network APOE08G passive Gigabit PoE injector helps reduce cable clutter and simplifies infrastructure planning in home or office networks. Its gigabit capability guarantees that network performance is not compromised during high-bandwidth data transfers. The eight-port configuration allows multiple devices to be powered and connected simultaneously from a centralized location, improving overall network organization and efficiency.

Suitable for

• Powering and connecting IP security cameras
• Deploying wireless access points in remote locations
• Setting up VoIP phones across an office network
• Extending wired local area networks with gigabit data support

When it may not be suitable

This device is a passive PoE injector, meaning it does not negotiate power requirements and constantly outputs voltage. Therefore, it is not suitable for equipment that requires active 802.3af/at PoE or specific voltage handshakes, as mismatched power delivery could damage connected hardware. Additionally, it should not be used in environments where standard non-PoE network switches are the only requirement without the need for remote power delivery.

Key specifications

• 8 passive PoE ports
• Gigabit Ethernet speed support
• Data and power transmission over a single Ethernet cable
• Designed for Power over Ethernet networking environments

How to use

To use the Alfa Network APOE08G, connect your standard network switch to the data-in ports using Ethernet cables. Connect a compatible power supply to the injector unit to supply the electrical current. Next, run Ethernet cables from the PoE-out ports of the injector directly to the network devices that require both power and data. Ensure that all connected devices are fully compatible with the passive power output of this injector before powering on the system.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your network devices require passive PoE and match the output specifications of this injector
• Ensure you have a compatible power supply unit available for the injector
• Check that your network infrastructure requires an 8-port centralized power solution

Always verify the voltage and power requirements of your connected hardware before installation to prevent equipment damage and ensure stable network operation.
