Managed L3 Gigabit Ethernet Switch Allied Telesis AT-IE340-20GP-80
The Allied Telesis AT-IE340-20GP-80 is a managed Layer 3 Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for industrial and harsh-environment deployments. It provides 16 Gigabit RJ-45 ports, PoE capability, USB 2.0 and console ports, a switching capacity of 40 Gbit/s and a 16,000-entry MAC address table. The switch supports a wide DC input range (18–57 V), a fanless design and a compact, rugged housing suitable for manufacturing, transportation, automation and Smart City applications.
The AT-IE340-20GP-80 delivers high throughput and advanced security with support for IEEE networking standards including 802.1X authentication, VLANs and QoS. Its fanless construction and extended operating range enable reliable operation in demanding environments. Management is simplified through Allied Telesis AMF and Vista Manager EX for centralized configuration and visual monitoring. Flexible SFP support allows both Fast Ethernet and Gigabit SFP modules, and PoE power can be dynamically allocated and configured to match external PSU capabilities.
Install the AT-IE340-20GP-80 in an appropriate industrial cabinet or DIN-rail/mounting location following site power and grounding guidelines. Connect network devices to the Gigabit RJ-45 ports and, if required, insert SFP modules into SFP slots to use fiber links or legacy 100FX devices. Configure network settings, VLANs, routing and security policies using the switch’s management interface or centralized AMF. If using PoE, set the power budget according to the external PSU capacity and allow dynamic allocation to power connected endpoints.
For resilient networks, enable appropriate ring or protection protocols (for example EPSRing or ITU‑T G.8032) to achieve sub-second recovery. Use 802.1X for port-based access control, and monitor the system with Vista Manager EX to identify and address issues proactively. When migrating from Fast Ethernet to Gigabit, use compatible SFP modules to maintain connectivity during phased upgrades.
