Network media converter Allied Telesis AT-MMC2000LX/LC-TAA-60 1000 Mbit/s 1310 nm Single-mode LC grey
The Allied Telesis MMC Series mini media converters provide compact fiber-to-copper connectivity while maintaining the full functionality of standard media converters. Available in 100 Mbps and 1000 Mbps models, MMC units support various fiber connector types (fixed SC, ST, LC or SFP) for multimode or single‑mode links and an RJ‑45 copper port with a maximum distance of 100 meters. Their small size and external power supply reduce footprint and enable flexible placement in constrained environments.
MMC Series converters are energy-efficient, consuming approximately 1.7 W and offering over 50% power savings. They support IEEE 802.1Q VLAN long packets, include Smart MissingLink™ monitoring to detect and report segment failures, and provide Smart Link Restoration to automatically recover links after power loss or interruptions. A built-in link test helps quickly identify faulty ports or cables for faster troubleshooting.
Install the MMC media converter by connecting the fiber cable to the selected fiber connector (SC, ST, LC or SFP module) and the copper cable to the RJ-45 port. Provide power via the external power supply. Use the built-in link test to verify connectivity between ports and attached devices. Configure VLAN settings on connected switches as needed; the MMC Series transparently supports IEEE 802.1Q long packets without additional device configuration.
For reliable operation, match the MMC model to the required data rate and fiber type (multi-mode or single-mode), ensure fiber connector compatibility, and limit copper connections to standard Ethernet distances (maximum 100 m). Use the Smart MissingLink and link test features when diagnosing link failures to pinpoint the affected segment quickly.
