Product information

Description

The APC Easy Rack Side Panel ER7SIDE4210 is a set of two split side panels designed specifically for 42U server racks with a depth of 1000mm. Finished in a professional black color, these panels enclose the sides of network and telecommunication equipment cabinets to protect internal hardware from dust and physical contact while maintaining a clean, uniform aesthetic in server rooms and data centers. The split design ensures easier handling and maintenance access compared to single solid sheets, making them practical for active IT environments.

Advantages

Using these side panels helps improve thermal management inside the cabinet by directing airflow correctly through the enclosure and preventing hot air recirculation. The robust construction provides a secure barrier for sensitive IT assets, reducing unauthorized access to the interior of the rack. Because they come in a convenient two-piece split configuration, installation and removal during routine maintenance or equipment upgrades require less physical clearance around the rack, saving valuable time for IT administrators.

Suitable for

  • Enclosing 42U server racks with a 1000mm depth
  • Data centers and server rooms requiring organized equipment housing
  • Telecommunication and network equipment cabinets
  • Protecting installed hardware from dust and accidental contact

When it may not be suitable

These side panels are not compatible with racks of different heights, such as 24U or 48U models, or cabinets with depths other than 1000mm. They are also unsuitable for open-frame racks that do not feature side mounting channels.

Key specifications

  • Side panel type
  • Rack capacity: 42U
  • Depth compatibility: 1000mm
  • Color: Black
  • Quantity per pack: 2 pieces
  • Weight: 15 kg

How to use

Align each split panel with the designated mounting points on the side of the 42U rack frame. Secure the panels according to the standard rack mounting procedure to ensure a firm fit. Ensure that both panels are locked or fastened properly before operating the cabinet to maintain optimal structural integrity and safety.

What to consider before purchase

  • Verify that your existing rack model is a 42U cabinet with a 1000mm depth
  • Check the available clearance space around the rack for installation
  • Confirm the brand compatibility with APC Easy Rack systems

For best results, inspect the mounting latches periodically and ensure proper cable management inside the rack to avoid obstructing airflow channels.
