Freestanding rack APC ER8202
The APC ER8202 is a 42U freestanding rack engineered to provide structured, reliable storage for network and server equipment. Built with a high load capacity and a black professional finish, this rack is designed for use in data centers, server rooms and other technical environments that require stable mounting and orderly cable management. Castor wheels allow for relocation when needed, while the robust construction supports heavy equipment and long-term installation.
The rack offers a large 42U capacity and a maximum supported weight near 1200 kg, ensuring compatibility with dense server and networking installations. Adjustable mounting depth accommodates a range of devices and rails, and the 19" size format ensures compatibility with standard rack-mount equipment. The black finish provides a neutral appearance suitable for commercial environments, and the included castors make temporary repositioning straightforward without disassembly. The overall dimensions deliver a compact footprint for the capacity provided.
Position the freestanding rack on a level surface and lock the castors if the model includes locking wheels to ensure stability. Install equipment into the 19" mounting rails using appropriate cage nuts and mounting screws, adjusting the mounting depth up to 838 mm to fit larger devices. Distribute load evenly across the rack height to maintain balance and adhere to the maximum load capacity. Route power and network cabling through available openings or cable management accessories to maintain airflow and accessibility. For relocation, unlock and use the castors to move the rack; secure and re-level the rack after moving before powering equipment back on.
To optimise long-term performance and safety, place heavier equipment in the lower U-positions, verify that total mounted weight does not exceed the rated capacity, and use additional stabilisation or anchoring where local regulations or site conditions require it. Regularly check fasteners, cable routing and castor locks as part of routine maintenance.
