Acrylic Speedpaint by Army Painter — Periwinkle Purple (Speedpaint 2.0)
Army Painter Speedpaint 2.0 Periwinkle Purple is an acrylic hobby paint formulated for miniature painting and model making. This single-component, ready-to-use colour delivers fast coverage and integrated wash effects to accelerate basecoating, shading, and tabletop-ready finishing. The fluid consistency supports smooth flow from brush to miniature, allowing quick application across primer or previously painted surfaces without the need for additional mixing or thinning.
Periwinkle Purple Speedpaint combines opaque basecoat properties with a subtle wash effect in a single bottle, reducing the number of steps needed to achieve depth and shading. The paint is water-based and cleans up with water, offering ease of use for hobbyists at different skill levels. Its formulation promotes consistent flow and adhesion on typical miniature materials such as plastic, resin and metal when applied over an appropriate primer.
Shake the bottle well before use to ensure pigment and medium are evenly distributed. Apply directly from the bottle with a hobby brush for rapid basecoating and shading; thin applications produce wash-like shading while heavier application increases opacity for base layers. Allow each coat to dry fully before applying further layers or highlights. Clean brushes with water immediately after use.
For best results apply Speedpaint over a compatible primer and avoid mixing with solvents. Use multiple thin coats rather than a single thick layer to maintain surface detail and achieve even shading. Test on a spare part or sprue to confirm desired coverage and drying time before committing to a full model.
