The ATEN KL1516Ai is a 1U rack-mountable Dual Rail KVM switch with an integrated 19" LCD console. It provides centralized control of up to 16 computers and supports daisy-chaining of up to 15 additional KVM switches to manage up to 256 computers. The unit supports USB and PS/2 keyboards and mice, VGA video output, and multiplatform connections (PC, Mac, Sun, Serial). Its compact Dual Rail housing includes a sliding LCD and separate keyboard/touchpad module, with the LCD rotating up to 120° for improved viewing. The package includes the KL1516Ai switch, power cord, rack-mount kit, firmware upgrade cable and user instructions.

How to use

Install the KL1516Ai into a standard 19" rack using the supplied rack-mount kit. Connect servers using the provided or compatible KVM adapter cables (PS/2, USB, Sun, or serial as required) to the RJ-45 ports using Cat 5e/6 cabling. Attach the integrated LCD/keyboard console or connect an external console to the extra console port. Configure network settings and user accounts via the local OSD, browser-based GUI or management software (ALTUSEN CC2000) and apply desired security settings and encryption. For remote access, enable IP settings and authentication methods (RADIUS/LDAP/AD) and, if needed, daisy-chain additional KVM switches to expand the number of controlled servers.
