KVM switch ATEN US221A-A7
The ATEN US221A-A7 is a 2-port USB 2.0 peripheral switch that enables two computers to share a single USB peripheral such as a printer, scanner, keyboard or mouse. It is USB 2.0 compliant, supports transfer rates up to 480 Mbps, and is bus-powered for easy installation. The compact device weighs 0.054 kg and includes a 1.8 m USB Type A to Type B cable, installation disk and user instructions.
The switch offers simple port selection via pushbuttons, a configuration utility or an Auto Switch function that automatically selects the active computer. LED indicators show port focus and a buzzer signals when switching occurs. It supports multifunction printers, is hot-pluggable, provides overcurrent protection and works across multiple platforms including Windows and Mac.
Connect the included USB Type A to Type B cable between the switch and the USB peripheral. Use additional USB cables to connect each computer to the switch. Select the active computer with the front pushbutton, via the configuration utility, or allow the Auto Switch function to detect and switch automatically. The LED indicators show which computer has focus and the buzzer confirms switching. No external power supply is required when the connected peripheral and host provide sufficient bus power.
For reliable operation, use USB 2.0 compatible cables and connect to host computers running supported Windows or Mac operating systems. When using power-hungry peripherals, verify that the peripheral and host provide adequate bus power or use a self-powered hub if necessary.
