Managed Switch Avaya 4826GTS-PWR+
The Avaya 4826GTS-PWR+ is a managed Layer 3 Gigabit Ethernet switch with 24 Gigabit RJ-45 ports (10/100/1000) and integrated Power over Ethernet (PoE/PoE+) support. Designed for rack mounting, it provides a MAC address table of 8000 entries and complies with IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at standards. The unit supports hot-swappable replacements within a stack chassis and offers integrated power redundancy for continuous operation.
This managed switch delivers wire-speed performance and stackable chassis capabilities that expand up to 400 ports with a virtual backplane throughput of up to 384 Gbps. It is energy efficient — on average 36% more efficient than comparable solutions — and includes energy saver functionality to reduce power consumption for both the switch and connected IP phones while maintaining telephony connectivity. The device supports PoE and PoE+, advanced QoS, and standards-based 802.1x security integration for policy-based authenticated access.
Mount the Avaya 4826GTS-PWR+ in a standard 19-inch rack and connect uplinks and access ports using Cat5e or better cabling. Enable PoE/PoE+ on required ports through the switch management interface and configure VLANs, QoS policies, and 802.1x authentication as needed for your network. When deployed in a stack chassis, follow Avaya stacking procedures to add or replace units hot-swappable without disrupting traffic; ensure integrated power redundancy modules are installed and tested to maintain resilience.
For optimal performance, use quality Ethernet cabling (Cat5e or higher), keep firmware up to date, provision PoE budgets according to connected device requirements, and integrate the switch with your network’s identity and policy systems to leverage 802.1x authentication and centralized management.
