Shovel/trowel AWTools AW00070, weight 2.1 kg, hand garden tool
Shovel/trowel AWTools AW00070, weight 2.1 kg, hand garden tool
AWTools AW00070 is a compact hand shovel/trowel weighing 2.1 kg, designed for garden and outdoor tasks that require controlled digging, scooping and moving of loose materials. Made in Poland from hardened steel with a powder-coated finish, the tool combines a wide, ribbed head and upward bent edges to retain lifted material and increase structural strength. The wooden shaft is smoothly ground, riveted through the head and finished with a T-shaped handle to provide a firm grip and straightforward control during repetitive ground work.
The hardened steel head and powder-coated surface increase resistance to wear and corrosion, while the ribbed reinforcement improves durability under load. The wide head with upward bent edges reduces spillage when scooping and moving dry materials such as soil, sand, gravel, ash or coal. The wooden shaft is ergonomically shaped, riveted for secure attachment and ends in a T-shaped handle that helps distribute pressure and improve leverage during digging and scooping tasks.
Hold the shovel with one hand on the wooden shaft and the other on the T-shaped handle to maximize control and leverage. Position the wide head into the material at a slight angle, push forward to penetrate compacted soil or scoop dry material, then lift using your legs and arms to avoid strain on the back. For digging planting holes, loosen the surrounding soil first, then use the edge of the head to create the desired hole size. After use, remove debris from the head, dry the tool and store in a dry place to preserve the powder-coated finish and wooden shaft.
Use gloves to protect hands during extended work. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture to preserve the wooden shaft; if necessary, treat the wood with appropriate oil or preservative. For heavy or frozen ground, pre-loosen the soil to reduce stress on the tool.
