Hoe AWTools AW00314 — garden hand hoe, weight 700 g
Hand hoe AWTools AW00314 is a compact garden tool designed for routine bed and container maintenance. The double-sided steel head with a powder-coated finish combines a heart-shaped hoe blade and a three-tined fork to support digging, weeding, aeration and light soil breaking. A wooden, smoothly ground handle provides a secure grip while the overall weight of 700 g keeps the tool easy to manoeuvre for extended use. Made in Poland, the construction emphasises practical, low-maintenance functionality for home gardeners.
The double-sided head gives two distinct working edges in a single tool: a heart-shaped hoe for digging and row marking and a three-tined fork for loosening compacted soil. High-quality steel construction with a powder-coated finish improves durability and corrosion resistance under normal garden conditions. Sharp, pointed corners are useful for precise tasks such as marking sowing rows and removing roots, while the wooden shaft offers a comfortable, non-slip grip for controlled use.
Hold the wooden handle firmly with one or both hands depending on task and posture. Use the heart-shaped hoe side to dig small holes, remove weeds by cutting roots near the soil surface, and mark sowing rows with the sharp corners. Flip the tool and use the three-tined fork to break up clumps, loosen compacted zones and aerate the soil around plant roots. Work with short, controlled movements and avoid forcing the tool into very hard ground to prevent damage to the head or handle.
Clean the steel head after each use and dry it before storage to maintain the powder-coated finish. Periodically check the wooden handle for cracks and treat with a light coat of linseed oil if the wood begins to dry. Use appropriate hand protection when working with tough soil or roots and store the hoe in a dry place out of prolonged moisture to extend service life.
