AWTOOLS AW30235 masonry trowel
The AWTOOLS AW30235 masonry trowel is a lightweight sanding/blocking tool designed for smoothing gypsum and similar plaster surfaces. It has a plastic body with a glued backing plate featuring a layer of hard, flexible micro-rubber to hold abrasive paper in place. The profiled full-plastic handle provides comfortable grip during use, and spring clips secure the sanding paper to minimise slippage.
Construction from durable plastic and a micro-rubber-backed plate combines low weight with reliable grip for abrasive sheets. The profiled plastic handle offers ergonomic handling, while the spring clips keep sanding paper firmly attached to the plate, reducing interruptions and making surface finishing more consistent.
This tool is intended for light to medium sanding tasks on plaster and gypsum; it is not designed for heavy-duty masonry chiselling or metal grinding. For very coarse material removal or work on rough concrete, a heavier-duty tool or mechanical sander may be more appropriate.
Attach an appropriately sized piece of sanding paper to the backing plate and secure it with the spring clips so the abrasive sits flat and tight. Hold the profiled handle with a comfortable grip and move the trowel evenly over the gypsum surface using steady, overlapping strokes. Replace the sanding paper when it becomes clogged or worn to maintain consistent abrasion and finish.
Use medium-grit abrasive paper for initial smoothing and finer grits for final finishing. Keep even pressure and overlap passes to avoid creating grooves in the plaster.
