Axe AWTools AW33025BL — AW33025BL hand axe, metal head with handle
AWTools AW33025BL is a compact hand axe designed for general cutting and chopping tasks. The tool pairs a forged carbon steel head with a heat-treated, hardened cutting edge and an epoxy-bonded connection to an impact-absorbing composite handle. The nylon-coated composite handle with a TPR anti-slip grip provides improved control during use. A plastic sheath is included for safe transport and attachment to a belt.
The forged carbon steel head with a black finish and heat-treated, hardened cutting edge ensures deep, clean cuts and durable edge retention. Epoxy bonding of the head to the handle increases striking power and reduces loosening under repeated impact. The composite handle with nylon coating and TPR anti-slip insert reduces vibration transfer and improves grip security. The included plastic sheath protects the blade and makes the axe easier to carry.
Hold the axe with a firm two-handed grip, placing the dominant hand nearer the head for controlled strikes and the other hand near the base for leverage. Position the workpiece on a stable surface and swing the axe in a smooth, controlled motion to achieve desired cuts. For chopping small logs or splitting kindling, begin with light strikes to create a starter cut, then follow through with stronger, controlled blows. After use, ensure the blade is clean and dry before placing it in the plastic sheath for storage or transport.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves and eye protection and ensure a clear working area. Regularly inspect the head-to-handle bond and the condition of the cutting edge; sharpen the blade as needed using proper sharpening tools. Store the axe in a dry location and keep the sheath engaged during transport to protect the blade and prevent accidental contact.
