Axe AWTools AW33029BL — AW33029BL hand axe, metal head, wooden handle
AWTools AW33029BL is a compact hand axe designed for chopping, light splitting and general outdoor or workshop tasks. The tool combines a forged carbon steel head with a heat-treated, hardened cutting edge and a durable composite handle with anti-slip TPR coating. The axe arrives with a plastic sheath for safe transport and belt attachment, making it practical for gardening, camping, forestry maintenance and basic carpentry work.
The forged carbon steel head with a black finish and heat-treated blade provides a hard, wear-resistant cutting edge for clean, deep cuts. The epoxy-bonded head construction increases striking power and reliability under impact. A nylon-coated composite core in the handle absorbs impacts while the TPR anti-slip coating improves grip and handling in wet or dirty conditions. The included plastic sheath protects the blade and enables convenient carrying on a tool belt.
Hold the axe with a firm two-handed grip when performing chopping or splitting tasks, placing the dominant hand near the top of the handle for control and the other hand near the base for power. Aim each swing to strike the target squarely with the centre of the blade. For trimming branches or light carving, use shorter controlled strokes. After use, clean the blade, dry it thoroughly and store the axe in its plastic sheath to protect the edge and prevent accidental contact.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves and eye protection. Check the handle and head bonding before each use and avoid striking metal or stone surfaces with the blade. Regularly maintain the cutting edge by honing or sharpening when needed and keep the axe dry and lightly oiled to reduce corrosion.
