Plastering Trowel AWTools AW64050 235 mm trapezoidal blade, unframed
AWTools AW64050 plastering trowel with a 235 mm trapezoidal metal blade in an unframed design is a hand tool for applying, smoothing and finishing plaster, cement and leveling compounds on walls and ceilings. The narrow trapezoidal shape provides access to corners, edges and small areas where larger trowels are impractical. The unframed configuration makes the tool lightweight and maneuverable for precise work on both vertical and overhead surfaces.
The trapezoidal 235 mm blade combines reach and control for working in confined spaces and along profiles. A metal blade offers a stable, flat working surface that resists warping during normal use. The unframed design reduces overall weight and improves tactile feedback, allowing more accurate finishing and smoothing. The tool is compatible with a range of plastering materials including gypsum-based plasters, cement renders and premixed leveling compounds.
Before use, ensure the blade is clean and free from hardened material. Load a small amount of plaster or compound onto the edge of the blade and apply to the surface with controlled strokes, holding the trowel at a shallow angle for smoothing and at a slightly steeper angle when distributing material. Use the narrow trapezoidal tip to reach corners and edges; overlap strokes slightly to create an even finish. After finishing, clean the blade thoroughly with water and a brush to prevent material buildup and prolong working life.
For best results, use the trowel with compatible gypsum or cement-based materials and maintain the blade free of dried residues. When working on gypsum plasters, keep the material’s moisture level consistent to avoid tearing or uneven surfaces. Periodically check the blade for nicks or bends and replace the tool if the working edge becomes deformed.
