Landscape fabric AWTools AW67256 — weed control ground cover fabric
AWTools AW67256 landscape fabric is a polyethylene ground cover designed to suppress weeds while allowing water and air to pass through to the soil. The permeable fabric is manufactured for garden and landscaping applications where reduced maintenance and improved soil moisture retention are desired. Built with UV resistance and reinforced mounting eyelets, it can be installed under mulch, gravel, paving or used as a protective cover for terraces, balconies and fences.
The fabric is made of durable polyethylene, offering tear resistance and long-term performance in outdoor conditions. UV resistance protects the material from sun degradation, extending service life. Permeability enables rainwater infiltration and gas exchange, maintaining healthy soil conditions while limiting weed emergence. Integrated mounting eyelets at top and bottom simplify anchoring and secure installation on slopes, beds and hard surfaces.
Select a clean, relatively even area and remove large stones or roots before placing the fabric. Cut the fabric to size and lay it flat over the soil with the textured side (if present) facing up to aid mulch adherence. Overlap adjacent sheets by the recommended amount for your soil and climate, and secure edges and overlaps using the built-in eyelets with pegs, staples or ties. Finish by applying a layer of mulch, gravel or paving material on top to protect the fabric from direct sun and mechanical wear. Around plants, cut an X- or cross-shaped incision and fold back fabric edges to plant, then cover the cut edges with mulch to limit weed growth.
For best results, avoid prolonged exposure of uncovered fabric to direct sunlight; cover with mulch or aggregate soon after installation. Regularly inspect anchor points and repair any tears promptly to maintain weed control and fabric performance.
